Ms. Caletta Goodkind » Welcome

Welcome

About Ms. Goodkind

My name is Caletta Goodkind, and it is my honor, pleasure, and privilege to be the Upper Campus Academic Math Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. This is my first year at Arizona Autism Charter School, and I feel incredibly blessed and beyond delighted to be a part of the AZACS family!

I am originally from Illinois, and I received my Bachelors degree from DePaul University in Chicago in 2002. My first teaching job was at a public high school in a western suburb of Chicago called Hinsdale, and I served as an inclusion teacher assisting students in Math and Study Skills. I relocated to Arizona in 2004 and acquired a position with a Scottsdale campus of the Boys and Girls Club working to develop and implement their CORE curriculum. I also worked as an instructor at the Mathnasium location in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed all of these various paths in my career, I realized I was missing that daily magic of being in a classroom teaching role and helping a wonderful group of students achieve both their academic and personal goals. I transitioned back into full-time teaching in 2014 at New Way Academy in Phoenix where I instructed middle school students with varied learning challenges in such subjects as Social Studies, Geography, Written Expression, Study Skills, and Executive Functioning.

As a teacher here at AZACS, it is my goal to ignite each individual students’ passions for learning by creating fun and practical lessons to engage not only their interest in the curriculum but also their motivation and confidence in their abilities so they can reap the rewards from their hard work to the fullest. I will also strive continuously to show my students the care I have for them. They deserve nothing less than to be completely assured that they are treasured beyond measure as bright individuals with the potential to turn their dreams into reality and achieve all of their aspirations. In the words of President Theodore Roosevelt, “Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
