About Mr. Jaime
Welcome students and parents to the 2019/2020 school year!
My name is Mr. Jaime and I am excited to be the Middle School Math teacher for sections 1, 2, 3 and 4!
With 11 years of experience as a SPEDucator, 7 years as a Paraprofessional and 4 years as a Teacher, this will be my first year with the AZACS team and I am ready to jump right in and work with the amazing staff and even more amazing students.
Although I am originally from Phoenix, I was raised in Los Angeles but returned to the Valley to attend GCU to earn my Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. After graduation, I returned to Los Angeles to teach in a number of notable areas including Pico/Union, Rampart and South Central Los Angeles working with diverse populations of Gen Ed students, Students with Special Needs and English Learners alike.
My enthusiasm for working with and for students with ASD was sparked early on when I was working a part time job as a classroom aide. I had no idea that I would become a teacher, as a matter of fact I was not all that great of a student myself. As a high school dropout in my late teens I worked a number of jobs before realizing that completing my education was the true path to success. I understand on a personal level that not all students are the same and that we all learn in different ways. This insight fuels my passion to provide every one of my students with the best possible education I can provide while making the learning process fun and engaging!
